   Turnovers have been almost nonexistent this season for Virginia Tech with only one in its first five games. That's a great number that few teams can match.

"Virginia Tech is Just Plain Good" by Joe Johnson

<audio blog>
   Virginia Tech has gone through the ACC like a hot knife through butter. The Hokies are getting sharper, too. Look what they did in demolishing Duke 45-0 in their last game. Virginia Tech is 2-0 on the road so far in the ACC and that leaves a lot of room for error for the Hokies the rest of the way. Don't worry, Hokie fans, you won't need it.

"We are happy to be home and by the way, this is OUR HOUSE" by Rick Fields

Hokies football machine continues to roll in the ACC

With all the banter that's been going back and forth about surprise teams that are blazing a trail towards the top of the polls while other teams are sliding, certain things stand out.  Teams such as Notre Dame are climbing and the OU's of the world are creating doubt regarding their legitimacy.

One team that has solidified their position of legitimacy as far as I'm concerned is Virginia Tech.  Beamer has his team rolling early and the jitters that some people expected from Marcus Vick have not come true.

Vick has been rock solid in his starts for the Hokies.  Under extremely adverse conditions against one of the most feared front four in the country, Vick was cool and showed great patience as he led the Hokies past a fired up NC State football team.  He used his legs and his arm was precise when needed to give the Hokies the go ahead score.

The other part of the Virginia Tech attack came to light this past weekend as the Hokies completely dismantled an outmatched Duke team.  While Duke is not an upper echelon team, the sheer dominance of the Hokies made a statement that is undeniable in its clarity…."We are happy to be home and by the way, this is OUR HOUSE".

Eerily similar to the splash which Florida State made when they entered the conference, the Hokies are steam rolling top opponents in the new super conference that is the ACC.  In their first 10 games, they are 9-1 and have already locked away their first ACC Championship.

Against Duke, the oft-overlooked Hokie defense limited the Blue Devils to an amazing 35 total yards of offense and only 5 first downs.  This stingy defense is solid and will be ranked towards the top of the ACC and with Vick leading the offense in what so far has been a spectacular start, the Hokies could be well on their way to another ACC Championship.

The season is young but the Hokies are making a loud statement already.
